Welcome to the Gem State Writers Blog

04 Apr

If you stopped by The Gem State Writers when we launched last Friday, you probably thought we were a bit odd. Just for fun, we all posted outrageous fake biographies for April Fools’ Day. We hope you had as much fun reading them as we did writing them.

Today, we’d like to introduce ourselves properly and officially welcome you to our new blog.

The Gem State Writers are eight novelists who joined forces to build an online community for people who love books. Here, we want to blog on topics of interest to readers and writers living in Idaho and beyond.

Don’t know Idaho from Iowa? Don’t worry. We may all live in Idaho, but our strength comes from our diverse backgrounds. In our day jobs, we are college professors, bookstore managers, homeschooling moms, school teachers, accountants, and fashion consultants. We write mystery, suspense, romance, historicals, YA, paranormal, and children’s books. With such variety, you’re sure to find something to perk your interest.

We believe living far from New York, in a state that just recently reached the one million inhabitant mark, gives us a fresh perspective on the writing world. We hope you’ll visit often and give us a chance to show you that Idaho is so much more than the punch line at the end of a bad sitcom joke.

Now, I’ll step out of the way and let our members tell you who they really are:

Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on websites I stumbleupon on a daily basis.
It’s always exciting to read through articles from other writers and practice something from their websites.
